As most of you know, I could go on and on about this book! I don't think I have ever read it without God teaching me something thru it. It is for young ladies, but I think most of the principles in it can be applied to young men as well. It is basically a book to encourage young ladies to wait on God for their spouse and not to go with the worlds way and date around. Most of y'all have probably read this, at least the young ladies might have. But since I would like this to be a discussion, I'm not going to say much about it because I'll never stop if I get started. ; )
So what are your thoughts on it? Is there some one thing that really stuck out to you or was there something you didn't like about it? Come on now, spill it! : )

WOW! That looks like a really good book.

I think it was a wonderful book. As a matter of fact, my sister is playing one of Sarah's Bright Lights cds in our room at the moment, lol.
The one thing I would (slightly) disagree with is her 'commitment to singleness'. That may be what God has called her to do and that's great! But, I would not recommend the mindset of "I want to get married - someday - but right now I'm serving the Lord!" I see a couple of problems with that. 1, What guy is going to want to 'stop' you from serving the Lord by pursuing you? 2, You can also serve the Lord through marriage. Singleness is a unique stage of service, but so is marriage. 3, If you want to get married and have children, it's not really practical to postpone it to 'someday'.
The book 'What our Mothers Didn't Tell Us' by Danielle Crittendon, though not written from a uniquely Christian perspective, it is written from a non-feminist view point, and it's very true. You can read an excerpt from it here: http://www.boundless.org/2005/articles/a0001135.cfm I recommend that book.
All said, I have been to several of Sarah's conferences and I think their family has a great ministry.
I've read this book before and highly recommend it:) It really encouraged me to have a high standard, to wait on GOD because HE has a perfect plan! and to trust HIM through the single years:)
Blessings!
Katie,
Okay, you said to "spill it," :) whatever we thought of the book, so here's my two cents.
Before You Meet Prince Charming IS a really good book. The story is fascinating, and all of the advice Sarah gives is definitely worth thinking about. But here's the thing I struggled with: Here she is, talking about what to do before you meet Prince Charming, and that the Lord will work it out (which He will). But did it hit you like it did me that Miss Mally is 30+ years old and never did meet her "Prince Charming?" While her advice is sound, I personally would really rather hear such advice from someone who eventually DID meet her husband and marry. Now I understand she did stress in her book that not everyone does meet "The One," but I'd really rather read that and know, "Yes, it DID work for her! So her advice IS worth following!"
So those are my thoughts. I'm still very glad others have gotten a huge blessing from it, though!
That looks like a good book! I think it important for us to choose wisely- not just guys either. We should really slow down every once in a while and think!

*GASP* love it! LOVE IT! LOVEEE ITTT!!!!
I read this book at camp this summer and what a different view on things it gave me! It was definately a life changing :)
Read Lady In Waiting by Jackie Kendall and Debbie Jones. Sounds similar to this book, but she is married. This book changed my life and my perspective on men and other things that I learned in the book.
